Plant Stall
MAY 2008:  Corsican mint, baby's tears, and crested hard ferns are just a few of the groundcovers surreptitiously taking over our garden.  We almost hold them at bay by digging up their advancing frontiers, pot or bag them, and bring them in to the VHS Plant Stall.  So bring in your own extra plants to benefit fellow members and VHS coffers.

Annual VHS Plant Sale

The May VHS meeting is the traditional time for our massive Plant Sale, and this year is no exception! A wide selection of interesting, quality plants will be offered for sale by members and some well known Vancouver Island nurseries. The library will also be selling off some gently used garden related literature (see below)
.
There is a special plant or two looking for a home in your garden. Please support your garden club by bringing any of your green-thumbed friends and relatives. There is no entry charge for this event. We look forward to seeing you there.

Doors will be open at 6pm for sellers to setup; the sale will start at 7pm.
Vendors can still call 477-5274 or e-mail <psytec@shaw.ca> to reserve a table.

This event is just one of the reasons to tell your friends to join the VHS!

p.s. Note that due to the sale, we will not have a Parlour Show this month.
Annual Book and Magazine Sale!!

The library’s annual book and magazine sale takes place at the May meeting.  Although past sales comprised lots of magazines and a handful of books, this year the sale has a load of books.  So, bring your wallet and a lot of change (our books and magazines are very, very cheap) and stock up on some reading.

If you have any books or magazines – gardening or anything else – that you would like to donate to the sale, please call Joan at 598-7386.
